Description
The project aims to characterise the phylogenetic and functional diversity of the microbiota in the digestive tract of quails and laying hens and is part of the DFG FOR2016: “Inositol phosphates and myo-inositol in the domestic fowl: Exploring the interface of genetics, physiology, microbiome, and nutrition”.
The overall aim is to understand the fundamental principles of microbe-host interactions and the composition and function of the intestinal microbiota in laying hens and quails with special focus on the impact of InsP6 degradation products in intestinal microbiota.
